With that said, I definitely pushed myself today! I went to the gym again this evening and decided to run on the treadmill. I decided to run a 5K, which is a little over 3 miles, and then do a Pilates video at home. And that's exactly what I did! I ran the 5K in about 28 minutes, which is 9 minutes a mile! Not bad for someone who hasn't ran over 2 miles in months. I am extremely proud of myself, especially for pushing myself the entire time! There were quite a number of moments where I was fighting myself. The argument in my head would go something like this:
"Wow... I already ran one mile. I think that's enough to keep my heart pumping. I don't rreeeallllyyy need to run anymore."
"Seriously? You told yourself you were going to run 5K, and you're going to do it."
"Yeah, but I haven't ran that much in a while. I should take baby steps. Plus, if I ran a slow 5K, it would take FOREVER."
"Then run it as quickly as you can! The faster you run, the quicker you'll be done."
"I'm tired."
"No, you're not. You're not even out of breath. You are making yourself believe that you're tired!! PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER."
Imagine that times twenty. I probably had arguments like that about twenty times in the course of 28 minutes. At least I didn't stop!
After I finished my run, I cooled down and stretched. I walked back home and opened my computer up to do some Pilates. I focused on my abs this evening. Here I posted one of my favorite ab workouts from Cassie
